WFMW: Shower/Swim with a Cast

Last summer, my niece broke her arm right before our big family vacation. This product saved her summer! It's a DryPro Waterproof Cast Cover, a rubber sleeve that fits over the cast, then you simply squeeze the attached pump a few times to draw out the air and create a watertight seal. That's it! Best of all, she could swim, tube, shower or do anything she wanted while wearing it. Never a drop of water got on her cast! They also make them for a PICC line, Ostomy or Prosthetic. My sister-in-law said it was worth every penny and more!

Oh, I hope I never need the tip, but it's a great one.

The most we've ever had was a cracked finger but it was during the winter.

We adopted our son (now 3) with club feet and he is in casts for months at a time. This is fantastic! I wish I would have heard of this a year ago. I am going to order them tomorrow. Thank you!

That is awesome! Wish I'd had one when I broke my arm in Kindergarten...that was a lame summer.

DryCast makes something similar too. I found out about it after my daughter broke her arm (the first time!) and promptly ordered one when she broke the other arm two years later. We didn't get one for swimming though. I wish we had. The first time she was in a cast from mid June to the end of July...I can't tell you the tears from not being able to swim that summer!

Great tip!

WE live in Florida and on the second morning of summer camp my 7 year old broke his hand and is in a cast from figertips to elbow! His cast is actually completley water proof and swimming in our pool is one of the few activities he can still do!

Awesome! My son just got his arm cast off his broken wrist, this would have been so great. Next time, which I hope there is not!

I saw these when my daughter was getting her cast in January. I thought they were way cool. I am so grateful we are now cast free...in time for summer.

Kids nowdays have everything. I remember my mom wrapping my cast in a garbage bag and then duck taping the whole thing. Then, I had to shower with my arm raised up in the air. I wonder if they have anything to help with that awful itch you get from a cast. :)

These dry pro products are great, but really hard to find in stores. There is a wholesaler I found that does not have minimum orders, MidwestDiscountMedical.com. They are a wholesaler to independent drug stores but also sell directly
